  1973   • The DOME Project was founded by John Simon on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.  
         
  2002   Bob Ellis, 1928-2002, founder of the Juvenile Justice Program, passes away.  
         
  2005   February: The DOME Project launches its first website.

 
      May: The kids in the Juvenile Justice Program publish their first edition of The Dictionary of Street Communication, a slang dictionary that is a must-have.

 
      December 23: The DOME Project rings the closing bell at NASDAQ.

 
      August: pod design+media volunteers their services to partner with The DOME Project to renovate the space we've occupied for 20+ years to better serve our kids.
 
         
  2006   May: The kids in the Juvenile Justice Program publish their second edition of The Dictionary of Street Communication.

 
      June 10: The DOME Project invited all alumni to a reunion of DOME staff and kids.

 
      November 1: Youth I.N.C. collaborated with The DOME Project for its premier fundraising event, A Celebration to Benefit New York Kids, featuring the American Ballet Theatre.

 
      November 26: METRO covers The DOME project in an article titled, "Locking up a better future for teens in justice system: City seeks detention alternatives; group says they have an answer" | by Amy Zimmer  
         
  2007   June 9: The DOME Project invited all alumni to the 2nd annual reunion of DOME staff and kids. John Simon was once again in attendance (from Finland).

 
      August 19: Summer trip to Six Flags Great Adventure thanks to the generosity of the Fieldston School of Ethical Culture.

 
      November 6: Youth I.N.C. collaborated with The DOME Project for its premier fundraising event, A Celebration to Benefit New York Kids, featuring Jennifer Holliday, the original Broadway Dreamgirl.

 
      December 10: One of the kids in the Juvenile Justice Program was featured in an espn.com piece titled, "Don't Be Like Mike: A Grassroots Urban Competition Teaches Dog Owners How Not to Follow in the Footsteps of Michael Vick," about Training Wheels, a dog training program he participated in. Nik Kleinberg interviewed him and Miguel's comparison between kids like him and pitbulls is insightful to say the least.
 
         
  2008   • The DOME Project invites all alumni to the 3rd annual reunion of DOME staff and kids on September 20. John Simon will once again be in attendance (from Finland). Details to come.

 
      March 26: Students from The DOME's Juvenile Justice Program traveled up to Albany as part of the Juvenile Justice Coalition (Correctional Association of New York) to advocate for closures of under-used and empty juvenile jails (OCFS facilities) upstate. Their voices were heard and they helped close one of the three jails. Great success guys! You spoke out for all of those kids who are locked up and aren't being heard.
